Our attention to innovation and quality dates back to 1922 when Chuutaro Kawada, a blacksmith, started Kawada Iron Works in a little town in Toyama, Japan. Since its inception, the little company with a handful of employees has grown into a dynamic group of companies employing about 2000 people. The KAWADA Group is known for its forward-looking technologies, superb quality and world-class projects.

Kawada’s growth has been fueled by an attention to detail and customer satisfaction that dates back to its roots in the iron works business. In a traditional industry, we have broken through barriers to create new products and processes that meet the needs of a changing society and a complex world, without compromising on quality and customer service.

A few of our projects include the world's longest Akashi kaikyo Bridge steel suspension bridge, Yokohama Landmark Tower which is the country's tallest building, most of the major sports stadiums including the Tokyo Dome, and a humanoid robot system that is the standard research platform in major research facilities.

In keeping with our commitment to provide innovation and quality while maximizing cost performance, we have re-structured the KAWADA Group under a new holding company, "Kawada Technologies, Inc." in February of 2009. With our new structure we will further consolidate our resources, streamline, and enhance our business activities as a whole to better compete in this turbulent and challenging business environment.
